BEFORE BIRTH * Virtual Prenatal Coaching * Personalized birth preparation, childbirth education, and birth partner training so you feel informed and confident before labor begins. DURING BIRTH * Birth Support (In-person at select hospitals) * Comfort measures, position changes to advance labor, emotional support, patient advocacy. Virtual support always available. AFTER BIRTH * Included Follow-up Visit * Postpartum guidance, breastfeeding support, and newborn care, Every pregnancy is different, and every birth is unpredictable. Rather than focusing only on labor support, Dr. Rae helps families understand what to expect, prepare for important decisions, and feel confident navigating pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and early parenthood. Whether support is provided in person or virtually, every family receives personalized guidance based on their unique needs and birth goals. Most prenatal visits are conducted through secure telehealth, making it easy for families across California to receive personalized birth preparation from home. When desired and available, Dr. Rae also provides in-person labor support. Families who prefer greater privacy during labor, deliver outside the local service area, or simply feel more comfortable without an additional person in the room may also choose virtual labor support, allowing Dr. Rae to continue guiding and encouraging them throughout labor and birth. ———————————————————————— WHY DOULA SUPPORT MATTERS A Doula is a patient advocate and provides non-medical support to birthing parents. Research shows that families who receive doula support are more likely to experience shorter labors, fewer cesarean births, fewer birth complications, and greater success with breastfeeding. Research also shows between 2019 and 2021, California saw 226 pregnancy-related deaths out of 1.28 million births. Out of all babies born in California, 40% are covered by Medi-Cal. Yet, pregnancy-related deaths are 2.7 times higher. These are not just numbers. These are mothers—and sometimes their children.
